Chalk and Cob Repairs

LSE Preservation carry out repairs to cob walls and buildings using traditional techniques and lime mortars supplied by the Building Lime Company Ltd.

Working with The Building Lime Company, LSE match mortars and cob mixes, lay in cob blocks to repair large voids and finally tie in new cob fills with Hazel spars or Helifix ties.

The cob blocks are allowed to dry before being used and therefore reduce the risk of cracking of lime finishes due to shrinkage.
