South
Lodge, Stockbridge
The garage building
was derelict and the chalk cob walling
had suffered from extensive water
penetration as a result of a defective
roof and sand cement rendering.
It had been deemed
as beyond repair. Steve James of
Alexander Associates, Consulting
structural engineers instructed LSE
Building Preservation to specify and
carry out necessary repairs using
traditional Lime mortar.
LSE supplied chalk blocks and cob
material to site and carried out extensive
repairs to the walls. LSE re-rendered
the property with NHL2 - Natural Hydraulic
lime gauged with lime putty mortar from the Building Lime Company
in Salisbury.
