Hotel
A large basement
under a luxury hotel near Southampton.
Three large new
build basements were being built by a
national building contractor. The
original design for the waterproofing
was done by Newton Membranes. The
contract was won by LSE by a competitive
tender. The design was agreed and the
design liability was taken on by LSE and
covered by LSE PI and Products
Insurance.
To comply with BS 8102 the ground
had to be drained by means of land
drainage.
The inside is lined with Newton System
500 on the walls and floors .
Drainage channel was
installed around the wall floor join to
large double pumps installed by LSE
technicians.
The site conditions
were extremely wet and muddy. No other
system could be effectively installed in
such conditions.
The installation is
guaranteed by the GPI Insurance for a
period of 10 years.
