Roman Villa - Epoxy Resin Repairs

The timber plate running through the valley of this ancient timber roof was decayed. To repair it would mean removing the whole of the roof which would have been very expensive and destructive. The Building contractor and the engineer employed LSE to carry out a repair that would not be less destructive.

Sections of decayed timber were cut out and new matching timber was spliced into place using Property repair systems Timber Resin Splice ( TRS ) and ROTAFIX resins

Some timber ends were decayed and had to be cut off and a new end spliced on using ROTAFIX epoxy resins which using Kiln dried timber of the same species was as strong as the original
